In 2010, I plan to go on the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. I will take the Vía de Plata route, from Sevilla, my home, & travel approximately 740 kilometers north to Santiago.
This journal is for contemplations before, after, & during the pilgrimage, as well as to develop research on the subject of the camino as well as the saint & what it all means to a Catholic person. I'll also be writing about my preparation, including posts about Catechism. I won't forget to thank every person along this life journey that lends a helping hand, either.
I am an artist, so hopefully this experience will inspire my art. If it does, the pieces will be posted here.
I welcome all who have gone on this pilgrammage & can provide advice. I also welcome all those who are interested in the camino as a pilgrimage & not as a tourist hike. Also, art lovers, writing lovers, & anyone interested in an artist´s viewpoint on this whole deal.
